The centre is founded on the educational principles of the Swiss educationist, Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi, who advocated learning through the holistic concept of "Head, Heart & Hands," combining academic excellence with a sense of social responsibility and practical skills such as wood & metal works, tailoring, home science, craft skills& farming.
